Programs for Lailat ul-Qadr
God says in the Holy Qur’an, Chapter 97:“In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful. Surely, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Power. And what will convey unto you what the Night of Power is? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.”
It is recommended that these nights be spent in worship and reflection.Imam Ja’afar as-Sadiq (as) said, “During Lailat ul-Qadr, the angels, the Spirit, and the trusted scribes all descend to the lower heavens and write down whatever Allah decrees that year, and if Allah wishes to advance something or postpone it or add thereto, He orders the angel to erase it and replace it with whatever He decrees.”
