Our dear sister Dr. Unaiza Hayat has passed away.

We are saddened by the loss Dr. Hayat. She was committed to her patients and an exemplary person who was dedicated to giving back to our community and our world. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

Please pray for the Forgiveness of God upon her soul and the Mercy of God to help ease the pain and suffering of her dear family. May Allah grant her family patience and rewards.

Imam Seyed Ali Ghazvini is Taking His Sabbatical This Fall

Seyed Ali Ghazvini, the spiritual leader of the Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno (ICCF), will take a five month sabbatical to research, continue his education, and lead and attend some conferences and workshops.  However, the bulk of his time away from Fresno will be focusing on charity work in Iraq, his native home.

Imam Ghazvini is part of a charitable organization called Development and Relief Foundation (DRF) which serves women and children, refugees, and victims of violence.  They have built a hospital, an orphanage, and four schools in Iraq.

He has served the ICCF community since May 2004 and this is his first sabbatical.  He will be away from Fresno from mid-August until January 2015.  In his absence, his nephew Seyed Hadi Qazwini, an M.A. graduate in Islamic Leadership from Claremont Lincoln University, will lead the Friday afternoon prayers.

Information about DRF, and opportunities to help, can be found at their website: www.drfcharity.org
