Youth Group
Looking for a Cool
group to join? Look no more. The Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno's
youth group is one of the best kept secrets in town. Youth meet on the
second Sunday of every month at 4:00 PM at the ICCF. Every Friday at
7:00 PM, youth come to the Islamic Center to enjoy some sort of
activities.
Some activities include sports (soccer, volleyball, basketball, ping
pong, etc), movie nights, or pizza social. ICCF youth are also
interested in meeting other youth from various faith communities. To
join, call the Islamic Center or email,

Volleyball Team:
Islamic Center will
be soon installing a volleyball court. Youth and adults are encouraged
to participate. If you are interested in becoming part of the volleyball
team, send an email to

My Deen
Muslim Youth Group:
Islamic Center has
endorsed My Deen Youth Group, a Fresno-based nonprofit organization
dedicated to building the character of Muslim youths through activities
and programs that serve the community. We want to empower kids to get involved
in community events and to get to know each other. The group is the
collaborative effort of the Muslim Student Association at Fresno State
and Masjid Fresno, Badr Islamic Center, Islamic Cultural Center of
Fresno, Valley Crescent School/Muslim Society of Central
California, Masjid Al-Aqaba and Madera Masjid.

Interfaith Youth Barbeque:
Ready to learn something new about another faith and
have fun with it? Come on out on THURSDAY MAY 26TH AT 6PM to ICCF. Meet
students from the Universalist Unitarian, Temple Beth Israel and
Mennonite College Community congregations and join in some friendly
competition to win a neat prize!

Youth Programs:
Saturday Youth Session:
(Saturdays at 12:00pm)

Each Saturday we meet to
discuss different topics and how they impact Muslim youth. The youth session is
lead by a different youth each week, who gives background information on the
topic and moderates the discussion. Ages 13 and up are welcome to join our
discussions.
Newsletter:

ICCF youth create the
Messenger, a community newsletter. The staff writes articles and uses
photography to illustrate issues that impact the Islamic community. We are
always looking for new talent to contribute to our team!
Ramadan Kit:
Youth designed a kit to teach
about the holy month of Ramadan at public schools in a fun and interactive way.
The Ramadan kit team has visited different schools in Clovis and Fresno and
given presentations to elementary and junior high classes. To find out how to be
involved in this program or if you are a teacher interested in learning about
this program contact Sarah at 297 9535.
Sunday School:

Each Sunday we have classes
for children ages 6-13 years of age on Islamic studies and a language of their
choice-Farsi or Arabic. Twenty four students enrolled this past semester.
Classes are from 11:00-1:30 every Sunday starting January 30th. In addition to
academics, Sunday School kids take trips and participate in fun activities
Liar, Trickster,
Hero: Tales of Nasreddin:
Children ages 7-13 years of
age will be performing this play that depicts the life of a folkloric character
by the name of Nasreddin. The performance is scheduled for April 29th at 6pm.
Comical and light hearted, Nasreddin's stories combine culture and wisdom in a
manner enjoyable to all audiences.
